We don’t get real snow here in the San Francisco Bay area, but I grew up with winter snow in the Midwest, and I really miss going out into the hushed world when snow is falling. So over Christmas, my friend Mary and I created our own fabric snowflakes. Yesterday I made a snowflake garland to hang over our dining table.

Are they felt?
These are the most high-tech fabric snowflakes around … our kitchen was a manufacturing area for about a week. They are a combination of fabric and some kind of liquid stiffening agent.
