The Dirt that Ate My Yard

I went away for a few days last week, and look what happened while I was gone:

My husband seized the chance offered by my absence to give full rein to his dirt megalomania. He is now building a road behind the barn that goes down to the lower part of our yard, circles around, and comes back up.  This requires many, many more loads of dirt brought by these:

And of course, many hours of dirt pushing by his beloved Bobcat, consultations with his accomplice Bobcat driver, Claudio, and general mess, noise, and mayhem.  He was in heaven.  Strangely enough, he didn’t mention this new project to me until I came back and found it well underway, even though we talked on the phone every day.
