Never mind what happened. What does it matter, when the centerpiece looked like this?
Actually, it was a fine banquet, a recruiting event hosted by my older daughter Sunny’s future high school to encourage the students who applied to sign on the dotted line and come to their school. They have obviously learned something important about recruiting, because the whole event was about giving out prizes and eating, with these cupcakes as the ultimate weapon, sitting right there in front of everyone throughout the evening. They were even listed on the program as the final activity: “Dessert.” It’s my kind of school, all right.
