Sunday was my birthday. And not just any birthday — a Big Birthday.  I’m starting a new decade, and in keeping with the adventurous spirit proper to this kind of occasion, I agreed to let Basketball Girl dye my hair.  I’ve always wanted auburn hair like my mother’s, but I’m much too lazy to go to all the trouble of maintaining a dye job.  So this may be a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

But you’ll have to wait until I get a photo of myself that I like (which will be shortly after Hell freezes over) to see the end result.

Did I ever tell you about the time I dyed my hair purple…with my sister’s help? I look forward to seeing the results, which will be….when? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Your mother’s hair was auburn? Is this the same Christine I’ve known for the last …. years, since her teeny-weeny self was born??? Auburn???

Well, Happy Birthday. Your mother started law school when she turned that age.
