A Visit to the Olden Days

Saturday night, we went to a dance held at a blacksmith’s shop in the industrial part of Berkeley.  It was like going back in time a hundred years.

The walls of the shop were lined with old tools:

And there were lots of things like this that I’m sure every blacksmith needs to have around:

We danced the Virginia Reel and may not have actually been the very worst dancers on the floor.  But it didn’t matter how many mistakes you made.  The caller got everyone untangled eventually.
